Leo Full moon Eclipse - The Sun and the Stars

These past few years have certainly been playing out that apocraphal chinese curse: “may you live in interesting times”. These interesting times have been 'clocked' by the outer planet transits of Uranus and Pluto and the confusion mirage of Saturn-Square Neptune. (more on both these later)

So, While this eclipse is not particularly super-charged, we are in the mix of quite a lot turmoil and the Eclipse will be directly aligned to both President Trump and Moon of the United States of America as well as many other big names in the political spotlight. Expect drama and the roar of crowds to be heard now and throughout the year, especially in late summer when we have a New Moon Solar Eclipse in this same region of Leo -Both effecting the United states and many of it's most public officials, including the president. more on this later.

Eclipses go in cycles. This Eclipse concludes an ongoing series of Eclipses between Virgo and Pisces an starts the first of several between Aquarius and Leo, activating the dynamic interplay between Heart and mind, the individual and the collective. This first article will take a look at some of the qualities of Leo and how it may be effecting you personally. The second article will look at the Leo, Kingship and it's implications for our current epoch.

The Sun and the Stars - The night and the Day

Aquarius is the field of stars in the night sky where Leo is the singular Sun shining daylight onto the world. This dynamic is playing out in our lives and on the world stage in a number of ways, positive and negative. Before considering the personal effects it can be illuminating to consider the larger picture and the symbolic nature of the two signs.

The starry firmament, only visible at night, glitters and shines in the dark expanse of heaven , drawing us to the mystery of creation and the possibilities beyond our fixed station here on earth. This tapestry of night sky is contrasted by the singular radiant star that shines with regularity, encouraging life to grow and flourish. The two are opposing qualities that sometiems dovetail into one another. Consider fire: The air (Aquarius) nurtures and feeds flame as it ignites: the light of the sun escaping from wood. Similarly our minds, properly inspired, can ignite our hearts and drive us to creation.

On earth and in our personal lives we can experience it thus: For every audience there is a performer, for every charismatic leader, the people. This is double-sidedness of aeons and ages is something of a secret in the world of the occult, even in this day of instant information available everywhere.

Day and Night

Day and night are the most obvious cycles of life/light although very often ignored when delineating an individuals birth horoscope and in the interpretation of Leo. Within the horoscope a day-birth wil differ from night by emphasizing the benefit and negativity of particular planets. An important topic for another article, perhaps.

Likewise with Leo there is a night and day cycle.

In fact, night is emphasized with this time of year, in a way. Although the Sun is at it’s zenith of power here it’s also starting to embark on it’s long wintertime journey into the shadows. Cancer, the preceeding sign of Leo, is associated with the death of the Sun god Osiris where in Leo he embarks on his passage into the underworld in his solar boat.

Just as the sun hides away at night, Many Leo-typesare private and introverted individuals. The shy and retiring celbrity who is able to perform in front of millions or reveal deeply personal emotions on stage and screen is a perfect mirror of this concept. Often Leo’s prefer the backstage directing the action rather than being under the spotlight. Regardless of it’s outward expression the virtues and vices of leo (pride and warmth) are very much alive.

Some indicators of the "backstage Leo" would be Sun in Leo in 12th house or Leo planets or Ascendant aspected by Neptune or Saturn. Having one planet in Leo with a stellium of planets ion Aquarius will also offset the dramatic fire of Leo to a large extent.

The Heart of the Lion

While the entirety of the sign Leo can bestow qualities we may associated with leadership: dignity, pride, integrity, heart, ect it really shines with certain stars that make up the constellation.

Regulus, The heart of the lion (located at the end of the sign at 29⍛) that part of the sign most focused on kingship, royalty leadership and celebrity (as well as fall from grace). Planets here, especially the Rising sign, Sun or Moon are bestowed with a special quality that is often larger than life, noble, glamorous and full of pride. It is a charisma that can bestow immanence and, should they become careless with their pride, make a great (and often public) fall.

It should be surprise to no one that Donald Trump’s Ascendant is right on this star. Love him or hate him he fulfills this role as kingly leader both in media and literally now in politics. The Aquarius Moon of the USA (silby chart) is opposite his ascendant and Mars, all of which will be inexactly hit by this Eclipse while the upcoming Solar Eclipse in august will be even more exactly aligned. Big news for Trump and the American Psyche this year.

As well with the “fall” aspect: he has once gone bankrupt and built himself back up again and is currently in quite a precarious position with a lot of angry people and newspapers and media corporations calling (tacitly or implicitly ) for his assassination at worst with not-so-subtle calls for impeachment.

while wikileaks has recently revealed collusion between media and state actors including the Hillary Clinton and the DNC. As an aside, Jullian Assange has Mars in Aquarius opposite Leo Midheaven and square Jupiter in Scorpio, all being activated by this Eclipse. Hillary Clinton’s chart, among other DC players, being lit up as well.

Quite a lot isclimaxing now and in the next 120 days. Expect drama, grandstanding and contrast by crowds both real grassroots folks and virtual manufactured armies created by Dark kings that hide behind the curtain. The More on in this in pt2

Leo Eclipse
