New Moon -Solar Eclipse in Pisces (pt1)

New Moon Eclipses are supposed to be mild by comparison to the Full Moons, certainly with less of that feeling of release and purging, it generally seems that way to me. However, I am sometimes surprised by the power of a New Moons and find I have trouble sleeping and am a bit overstimulated with energy.

The last Full Moon eclipse seemed rather positive for myself and most of those around me (with some stark exceptions) and I think this one has potential for positive developments with the rather robust caveat that it comes one week before Venus goes retrograde. So, expect some unusual romantic tangents or frustratingly tantalizing interludes in the coming weeks. The Eclipse is just a few degrees away from Neptune so you may find the mysterious waters of Pisces to be especially mystical and/or charged with fantasy and illusion.

As the world grows weary with information overload (much of it deception) the need for retreat and recalibrate with our spiritual center is a much needed medicine at this time. This weekend can bring just that. Or at least a particularly glamorous Oscar show as an escape from our hypernormalized reality.

The fish Pisces swims in the waters of Aquarius

While technically the eclipse is in Pisces, the constellations often blend with each other and so the eclipse is also conjunct the fixed star Skat or Scheat Edeleu, meaning either (or both) "a wish" or "the shin bone" of Aquarius the water bearer.

While Aquarius is considered an air sign, this particular star is indeed watery and is related to "a thousand crafts regulated by water." As well as gifts of psychic intuition and prophecy, so its a good time for divination by water or long introspective baths.

Just be careful as it's also connected to persecution through divination and prophecy, not so much a serious issue these days but trouble may come from wrong predictions or shallow criticism from thought police who have yet to accept that we live in an psychically entangled world.

Additional activity

This star is also associated with the region of space where Uranus was discovered and it just so happens that Uranus is also highly active at this Eclipse. Uranus and Jupiter are playing out their cycle of aspecting each other, this time they are in opposite signs just about 180 degrees apart. The Uranus-Jupiter cycle is associated with technological breakthroughs in air and space flight as well as creation and popularization of the internet and other technological wonders. As I write this, NASA announced 7 earth-like plants around a nearby star and now proposes that our solar system is home to 100 planets. Don't be too surprised when they unveil a secret space program that will have the ability to take us across the stars sooner than later.

Mars & Uranus

Just a few days after the Eclipse, Mars will make it's conjunction to Uranus. Last time Mars and Uranus met up was March 11 & 12, 2015. At this time Hillary Clinton first publicly defended her "right" to use a private email server and foreshadowed much trouble ahead for her and her campaign as those emails started to leak.

Uranus is technology and radicalism so mars here signifies cyber warefare and forced transparency brought by rebels. Since uranus is both good guy and bad guy we may also see a blow-back from the deep state and legacy media clamping down on anything they decide is "fake news" .

The 2013 Mars-Uranus conjunction saw major cyber attacks in Korea which brought down entire banks and media broadcasters. The attack was executed using malware called a"Logic Bomb", a fitting title for a Uranian supervillian. Because Jupiter is opposite the alignment of Mars & Uranus there could be major hacks or leaks regarding major media outlets, already underway with CNNleaks, or perhaps trouble in the air with air and space craft.

Venus retrograde

Turning back to the fixed star Skat for one last little detail. Skat is also associated with new and influential friends and "love of respectable women". I mention this as the Eclipse comes just a week before Venus Retrograde, a powerful time for Venus and a period known for reversals and complexities in love and friendships.

This can be a time of misleading first impressions.

Sometimes a good first impression is soured by disillusionment or, on the other hand, a bad first impression ends up being comical remembrance between close companions in the future. Be watchful and don't make major commitments or burn any bridges just yet.

Venus Retrogrades March 4 - April 15 and will move from Aries back to Pisces

Continuing on the theme of misleading first impressions let's take a look at Pisces along with mysterious Neptune who is closely conjoined to this Eclipse.

Both Pisces and Neptune share a lot of qualities, popular modern astrology even says Neptune "rules" Pisces, although this is often meant to say "affinity with" rather than the traditional meaning of the term "rulership", a subject I'll leave for later, if anyone is interested. .

Both are watery an element which erodes boundaries, particularly the boundaries between self and other. This lack of boundaries gives to both great empathy and compassion as well as a colorful oil-slick of color and light and a fantastical and unfiltered imagination. Both are also very changeable with powers of glamour and shape-shifting -great skill for artists, actors and performers so long as they remember to take off the mask when the show is over.

Sometimes it's hard to get a hold of and understand whats going on inside a Pisces as they are constantly shifting and undulating, Often they don't know themselves as the feelings are more like images, kaledescoping and fractalizing into the prismatic surf of cosmic oneness. or they are just too stoned to talk right now and hungry and the lighting is all wrong and you are being mean!

At the time of this Eclipse you may notice life mutating and warping into new realities. For some this will be a breakthrough in their personal life for others it may be a time of escapism into a more comforting dream and away from the harsh and ugly realities perplexing us at this time. A little distortion can be pleasing and even intoxicating too much distortion and it's just toxic.

If we manage to stay strong and to resist the urge to 'swim away' from confrontation and the ugliness of the world we may find pearls of wisdom in the sunken treasure chest of piscean waters.

New Mutations

So where are we emerging or perhaps mutating and transforming? Where might we be faced with the duty to erect or deconstruct boundaries in our lives? Or wrestle with addiction or delusion? Or hear -and heed- the call of spirit?

Eclipses are powerful New or Full Moons. Instead of an area of influence of a few days or weeks prior to and after, the effect is much longer lasting several weeks or months.
